Ludo game redesign, or as we call it in Serbia “ ne ljuti se covece“, which means: don`t be mad, man!, was a super enjoyable process, and I still think on how to improve the quality of the figurines, as travel size games, that you want as a designer to stay super light are hard to achieve, and still look good, yet to be manageable to make them in my studio… will see what the future holds.
The size of the game is 20×20 cm for the board itself, and I even bought the smallest plaing cube ever, but you can always decide to use yours if you like… The figurines are to be made from two small pieces, the figure and the base, and of course, there are 16 figurines in there.
Bigger meaning of this small project was to incorporate all the beauties of my city: Belgrade!:)
I turned it into some sort of map that way, by illustrating the rivers, Avala mountain, Ada Ciganlija, and Kalemegdan Fortress. I think it is super cute, but let me know what you think.
Since it is made from 3mm plywood, it is super light, not easy to ruin and break, and it has an organic and clean natural look.
